Social Madness – What is it? It’s a corporate social media challenge that starts today and we’re in. The Business Review, and parent company American City Business Journals, launched the challenge to identify companies with the best social media chops. Social Madness measures the growth of each participating company’s presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. Companies in 43 cities across the United States have signed up to compete in a national March Madness-like bracketed tournament measuring social influence. It’s all about connections, likes, and followers!
The prize: growing the influence and klout of our digital footprint and the opportunity, if we are one of the 3 national champions, to donate $7,500 to a not-for-profit organization. We’ve chosen Double H Ranch.
Double H provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses with the goal of enriching their lives by providing free camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. They give children living with critical illnesses a chance to get away and just be kids.
We’ve been a community partner and friend with Double H for 10 years. Ask Robin DeMattos, Corporate Giving & Special Events Manager at Double H, about Palio and she’ll tell you about a commitment that extends beyond the 9am to 5pm workday to the weekends, and beyond Palio employees to include family and friends: painting facilities, cleaning grounds, volunteering at events. In 2004 we created a new logo for them that captured the essence of the Double H experience: the serenity and simplicity that many of these children long for in their complicated lives. Or simply, Health and Happiness. Founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, Double H is a member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network. This year, as Double H celebrates their 20th year of making dreams a reality for their campers, we’ll be there to support them.
